About the Course
Rabindra Sangeet is at the heart of Bengali culture. Our course teaches students to sing Tagore's songs with the purity of tune and simplicity of expression they deserve, whether for personal joy, school and para functions, or the stage.
What you will learn
- Voice basics: sargam, alankar, breath and voice control
- Reading and singing from swaralipi (Swarabitan notation)
- Correct Bengali uchcharan (pronunciation) and phrasing
- Songs from all parjays: Puja, Prem, Prakriti, Swadesh, Bichitra and Anushthanik
- Common Rabindra Sangeet taals such as Dadra, Kaharwa, Teora, Jhampak and Ektaal
- Group songs and preparation for Rabindra Jayanti (25 Baishakh), Basanta Utsav and other programmes
