About Surmandal
সুরমণ্ডল — সুরের পরিবার
A vocal music school in South Kolkata with branches in Sonarpur and Bansdroni, and live online classes for students everywhere.
Our Story
Surmandal was started with a simple belief: everyone can learn to sing well with the right guidance and regular riyaaz. Today we teach children and adults at our Sonarpur and Bansdroni branches and online, in Hindustani classical vocal, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti and Bengali & Hindi songs.
Our Approach
- Basics first: every student builds a foundation in swara, sur and taal.
- Personal attention: small batches so each voice is heard and corrected.
- Joy of performing: regular student programmes build stage confidence.
- Respect for tradition: correct notation, pronunciation and gayaki in every style.
Our Teachers
Trained, qualified musicians who perform as well as teach.
